Chichén Itzá in four facts
A quick primer before you go — useful whether you book with us or arrive on your own.
Free entry on Sundays — choose “tour without tickets”
If you are a Mexican national, entry has a special national rate — cheaper than the tourist price — paid directly at the ticket office with your official ID (INE or passport). Choose the “tour without tickets” option at checkout and pay the entry there. Sundays are free for nationals, and 60+ enter free any day.
Students and teachers with valid ID may also qualify — ask us on WhatsApp before booking.
The highlights of Chichén Itzá
El Castillo (Temple of Kukulcán)
The stepped pyramid at the heart of the site. At the equinoxes, the setting sun casts a serpent-shaped shadow down its stairs.
Temple of the Warriors
Rows of carved columns and a chac-mool figure guard this vast ceremonial complex.
El Caracol
The round observatory used to track Venus and the equinoxes — Maya astronomy in stone.
The Great Ball Court
The largest ball court in Mesoamerica, with its famous serpent-carved walls and acoustics.
The Sacred Cenote
A natural sinkhole that was a place of pilgrimage and offerings for centuries.
Colonial church
The small church built with stones from the ancient city — 500 years of layered history.
How to reach Chichén Itzá
Chichén Itzá sits in Yucatán, about 2.5 hours from Cancún, 2 hours from Playa del Carmen and 2 hours from Tulum by car. The site has parking, and your guide meets you at the main entrance.
If you are driving yourself, leave early: the first slot at 8:30 am is cooler and far less crowded than midday. Your booking confirmation includes the exact meeting point and a contact number.
Best time to visit
Morning tours (8:30–10:30 am) avoid the heat and the largest groups. Bring water, a hat, sunscreen and comfortable shoes — the site is open ground with little shade.
On Sundays, Mexican nationals enter free, so the site is busier; we offer a no-ticket option for those dates.
